I was unable to tell how significant my choices would be, though at the end of the scene, Spock suggested something to the effect that we would have another chance to make said decisions. We cringed when we chose not to show deference to the queen during an important peace negotiation, who in turn aimed a disdainful frown in the direction of our Starfleet officer. For developers who made their names at a studio known for weaving compelling stories into existing universes, the chance to work with an IP as big as Star Trek is almost certainly an enticing prospect – even if it comes with the challenge of nailing the tone of a series that’s been around for decades.
While the information casts a grim shadow on the plot of Star Trek: Resurgence, both Martin and Grant note that longtime Star Trek fans will appreciate the RESOLUTE’s design modifications, and Martin in particular states the ship “ looks beautiful on the inside” - with an updated bridge design that falls somewhere between the classic Enterprise-D of Star Trek: The Next Generation fame and the titular starship from Star Trek: Voyager.Star Trek: Resurgence is an upcoming choice-based adventure title from Dramatic Labs, an independent studio with plenty of former Telltale Games workers. Martin notes this disaster haunts the crew of the RESOLUTE, either having experienced it firsthand or, in the case of playable protagonist Jara Rydek, replacing someone who died during this event. However, the RESOLUTE itself has been heavily modified by the time it appears in Star Trek: Resurgence, which Martin attributes to the ship having gone through “ a catastrophe of its own” six months before the events of the game.
